Quick Overview

Description of Betaxolol:

Betaxolol ophthalmic solution contains the active ingredient known as Betaxolol hydrochloride. Betaxolol is a potent medicine used to lower down the pressure inside the eyeball. It is indicated in ocular hypertension and open angle glaucoma. The intraocular pressure inside the eye is maintained by a regular flow of aqueous humor. Ciliary body present in the eye is used to produce aqueous humor and it drains out of eye at regular interval. In a condition when drainage of aqueous humor is blocked then it results in raising the intraocular pressure. If the intraocular pressure remains high for longer time, it may lead to damage of optic nerve and causes impaired vision.
